Since this little kitty has moved to our farm, life has been quite interesting. He truly is the most curious fellow I've met in a long time.
"Kitty" is also extraordinarily persistent. Although we kindly adopted him to be a barn cat, he has taken advantage of his nice new home and constantly invades the privacy of our abode. Some days, it seems like all I do all day is put that cat out the kitchen door. And as soon as I turn around, there he is again victoriously purring up me. He has perfected the art of opening our two back doors. My brothers keep asking me, "Why bother to put him out when he'll get back in anyway?"
Sometimes I wonder the same thing. But I have adopted a quote. Little kitty might be persistent, but I will be more persistent. Every time I put him out the door, I repeat Sir Winston Churchill's famous advice to myself:
"Never give in - never, never, never, never,
in nothing great or small, large or petty,
never give in..."
I think our little "Winston Junior" must be taking this to heart.
So "kitty" has earned the name "Win," aka "Winston." Hey, there he is again, rounding the corner of the kitchen...I need to go now and toss him out the door for the 104th time this morning. At least he's cute!
"Every creature which is in heaven,
& on the earth, and under the earth...
heard I saying,
Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power,
be unto him that sitteth upon the throne,
and unto the LAMB for ever and ever."
[Revelation 5:13]
