Lately, I have been working on upgrading my camera gear, which has been quite the matter of research, contemplation, debate, and prayer. It is a blessing to have my dad's advice in photography; he has encouraged me to push my skills to the fullest using the current equipment I own.
While I plan on soon upgrading my Canon body, we thought it to be wisest to "focus" on upgrading my lenses right now. Thus, this week I became the proud new owner of a Canon 24-70mm f/2.8L lens. It was a "big" step in every way...
Not to mention the obvious fact of its bulk: I quickly realized that bigger equipment is not as easy to tote around all the time - photography becomes a commitment, not simply a hobby.
Nevertheless, I am really enjoying the capabilities of this lens and look forward to employing it with my next photo shoot soon!
Lovely photos! :) It makes sense to get the lenses; after all they will be compatible with your future body...
ReplyDeleteI am fairly certain that I will be getting the 50mm next; it's a cheap investment for me right now until I can afford the zoom lens I want. (I'd like to get something in the 70-200 range eventually)
It must be wonderful to have a Dad with so much photography wisdom (not to mention wisdom in general!) ;)
Samantha, Thanks for the comment! You are right - it IS such a blessing having a very wise dad who gives me such wonderful advice, including photography. He keeps me challenged in deepening my SKILLS - not just my camera equipment (which can be a tempting route).
ReplyDeleteAnd I am simply trying to figure out my tiny, new camera! lol :P
