The Joy of the {Christmas} Season
Joy to the world!
The Lord has come
Let earth receive her King;
Let every heart prepare Him room,
And Heaven and nature sing.
Joy to the world!
The Savior reigns;
Let men their songs employ;
While fields, rocks, hills and plains
Repeat the sounding joy.
He rules the world with truth and grace,
and makes the nations prove
The glories of His righteousness,
And wonders of His love.
(From "Joy to the World!" by Isaac Watts, from Psalm 98)
May you have a blessed Christmas season rejoicing in the great love of our Savior, Who came to earth in the humble form of man. Praise His name!

Two Became One {Steven & Rebecca}
Steven and Rebecca {Married November 6, 2009} |
I have been blessed to know Rebecca as a daughter in her father's home, and recently to witness the Lord lead her and Steven together in the covenant of marriage. She now joyfully serves alongside her new leader and husband. I am so thankful the Lord gives us the vision of godliness through the examples of godly friends!
"Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother,
and shall cleave unto his wife:
and they shall be one flesh."
(Genesis 2:24)

Meet Our Newborn Calf
Last week we found a new addition to our barnyard. Our cow had given birth to an adorable calf with rich fluffy gray hair.
The momma was none to happy to see me nor my camera.
She bid him wake up from his nap - to get away from that person lurking around with that shutterbug!
So he hides behind her.
Newborn calves are so perfect and cute! It is always amazing to witness the miracle of a new life.
"O LORD, how manifold are thy works!
in wisdom hast thou made them all:
the earth is full of thy riches."
(Psalm 104:24)

Lens Focus {Camera News}
Lately, I have been working on upgrading my camera gear, which has been quite the matter of research, contemplation, debate, and prayer. It is a blessing to have my dad's advice in photography; he has encouraged me to push my skills to the fullest using the current equipment I own.
While I plan on soon upgrading my Canon body, we thought it to be wisest to "focus" on upgrading my lenses right now. Thus, this week I became the proud new owner of a Canon 24-70mm f/2.8L lens. It was a "big" step in every way...
Not to mention the obvious fact of its bulk: I quickly realized that bigger equipment is not as easy to tote around all the time - photography becomes a commitment, not simply a hobby.
Nevertheless, I am really enjoying the capabilities of this lens and look forward to employing it with my next photo shoot soon!

Tree Yielding Fruit
Some friends from California recently visited us and kindly shared a few lemons which grew on their own backyard tree!
"The earth brought forth grass,
and herb yielding seed after his kind,
and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself,
after his kind: and God saw that it was good."
(Genesis 1:12)

An Afternoon Tea
Welcome! |
Why don't you join us for some tea? |
Accompanied by some "chocolate sticks," of course! |
We'll string popcorn and cranberries for old-fashioned decoration |
While we girls are having our tea, the young men guard the castle... |
Or is it eat cookies? Either way, their company is enjoyed. |
Thank you for joining us for the afternoon! |
Bye bye! |
"For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given:
and the government shall be upon his shoulder:
& his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God,
The everlasting Father,
The Prince of Peace."
(Isaiah 9:6)
